Ducks and a rooster.
Early one morning I had an unexpected backyard orinthology* lesson.
First, I heard a rooster crow. We’ve lived near a farm for almost 15 years and either I’m rarely up early enough to hear the rooster or hadn’t noticed it before or both. It reminded me of visiting my grandparents’ farm.
Then I noticed three ducks on the peak of our roof. Two of them were facing the street and one was turned the other way.
Do you want to be one of the ducks sitting comfortably looking out over the familiar or the duck looking the other way exploring new terrain?
*Thanks to Abby Davis for teaching me the word orinthology. Orinthology is the study of birds.
