Stuck.

I’ve been working on a new product offering and social media launch. I keep getting stuck.

When I’m stuck I look up for inspiration from books and from others. This time I sought out answers from others online. In these times I am every online marketer’s dream. I search to find the “thing” that someone else knows so I could buy it from them. If I had that “thing” it’d all come together. I’d find the missing piece to the launch puzzle. It’s out there….right?

Well, it didn’t happen. I didn’t find any magic puzzle pieces.

Ironically, the service offering is The First Step. I needed to take my own advice and I did. I decided to begin. I:

  • structured the service;

  • wrote the website copy;

  • created the service image;

  • shared in my June newsletter;

  • sent a few individual emails;

  • set up the logistics of scheduling and payment;

  • designed the client experience;

  • held my first client discovery session;

  • scheduled my second client.

That felt good. But I was still stuck on how to share this offering on social media. So I reached out to my friend and social media expert, Amy Bagnall. Her advice and guidance was terrific. All was great until it was time for me to take her advice and execute the plan.

Then I recognized the type of mess I was in. It’s a different type of mess than my last blog (Sit with it). It’s my inner critic espousing all sorts of falsehoods cleverly disguised as truths. Nothing felt right and I began doubting — even laughing at — the goals I had set. My inner critic was having a heyday! Visit my blog titled Shut up for more thoughts on our inner critic.

I mustered up the energy to reach out to others in my tribe. And therein I found my answer. The answer to my social media dilemma was revealed when I looked up. When I got past myself things began to fall into place.

Today I launched a social media campaign, #LEADChallenge2020, that features great people and businesses and aims to bring a bit of energy-boosting content to the world in this time of anything-but-energy-boosting news.

I’ve moved from stuck to having a ton of fun learning about my partners, clients, and friends and sharing their genius — and humor — with others. Thanks to my village for their energy and encouragement.

Search #LEADChallenge2020 on LinkedIn if you’re in need of a smile.

Enjoy.
