Not so little moments.

#littlethings

Last week I realized that my daughter often asks me the following question in the morning:

"Mom, do you have a zoom meeting now?"

She always asks this question with a hairbrush in her hand.

I sometimes have an 8:00 a.m. zoom meeting, so she finds me and asks this question as I'm getting ready for the meeting or en route to my office (down the stairs).

It hit me like a brick last week that this didn't need to happen. Why in the world would I miss these potential moments (who knows how soon she'll decide to do this herself) when it's not necessary?

I want to be available when she walks in with her hairbrush and asks her question. I want to be able to answer, "No, I do not have a meeting. And of course I have time. I'd love to."

I love talking with my daughter about her day as I'm doing a ponytail or braid or whatever the request is for the day.

Changing my schedule to do office work instead of meetings from 8:00 - 8:30a and moving my location up a flight of stairs to the dining room is most definitely a #littlething. And it matters a lot to me.

What can you adjust in your schedule so you're available for moments that matter to you? To others in your life?
